Kenichi Arimura, a renowned Japanese chef, began his career in Japan’s eastern region.
Early on, he discovered his deep passion for traditional Japanese cuisine and trained under the country’s top masters. Through his creative yet respectful reinterpretations of classic dishes, he quickly gained recognition, earning several prestigious awards, including multiple Michelin stars.
After 30 years in Japan’s finest kitchens, Kenichi Arimura decided to bring his culinary art to Zurich.
With the opening of his first own restaurant, “Mura,” in 2024, he embarks on a new chapter: here, he aims to enchant Zurich’s diners with authentic Japanese cuisine – an homage to his roots and a bridge to the future of modern gastronomy.

In a charming side street in Zurich’s Seefeld district, Kenichi Arimura opened his first restaurant, named “Mura.”
The small restaurant impresses with its deliberately minimalist interior, featuring warm wood tones, soft lighting, and carefully selected artwork to create a cozy, living-room-like atmosphere.
In the evening, “Mura” offers a unique Omakase experience, where Kenichi Arimura takes guests on a culinary journey. With utmost precision and creativity, he prepares a selection of refined dishes, elevating the quality and variety of Japanese cuisine to a new level.
At lunchtime, “Mura” delights its guests with delicious Bento boxes and a fresh sushi assortment.
